Background Check

All Washington Youth Soccer Coaches and Volunteers must complete a national background check clearance (Risk Management Application) prior to be involved with any youth programs.

When you register at Bainbridge Island FC for various roles (e.g. coach, assistant coach, team manager), your registration will include background check.  Please read the information below before proceed.

When applying for background check you are required to complete Compliance Certifications, as required by Federal and State laws. There is NO financial cost to you for the Compliance Certifications.

Compliance Certifications are as follows:

  • Safe Sport (SS) - every year
  • Intro to Safety (a combined course of Concussion Compliance & Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA))

Please, click on the links below for instructions to complete each certificate.  If you went through these courses last year, enter your username and password when you sign in for the courses.

At the completion of each course you will be given a certificate.  Please save the certificates to your computer and upload to the registration form while you are registering at Bainbridge Island FC.

Registering at Bainbridge Island FC:
1. Log in at  Create an account if you don't have one.
2. At your account homepage, click "Volunteer" (on the left panel).  Please do NOT add yourself as a participant.
3. Follow the direction to fill out the registration form and upload the required certificates.

Why do I need to complete all of the certificates?

  • These certificates are mandated by federal and state laws, along with US Soccer and USYS. Washington Youth Soccer goal is to be the top association and make soccer the preeminent sport in the USA. These extra safety precautions are a step in that direction.
  • If you do not have a current approved background check, you will not have any access to teams or administrative functions in Affinity.
