Recreational Program

Bainbridge Island FC's recreational program offers boys and girls (K - 12th grade) the opportunity to play with new and existing friends in a safe and friendly atmosphere in our fall and spring seasons.

K-8th Graders Spring 2020

There are two sessions this spring. Registration opens on January 8, 2020. The registration will be processed through Bainbridge Island Parks. Click here to register.

Monday/Wednesday Session (April 20 to June 10)

Spring soccer, for kindergarten through 8th graders, allows players the opportunity to continue playing with old friends and new in a fun community-based environment. All games and training sessions will be on Bainbridge, there will be no weekend games. Teams play against other Bainbridge spring teams.

Recreational Soccer, or grassroots is where soccer begins. These early experiences spark a child's love for the game. The focus within our recreational program is on the player, and how to ensure that player is able to learn, grow and have fun playing soccer. The spring season is the perfect time to come play.

Location: Bainbridge High School Grass Fields

Fee: Kindergarten $99; all other age $150 (incl. t-shirt)

Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays, April 20, 2020 - June 10, 2020 (no soccer on Memorial Day)


  • Kindergarten (coed): 5:00-5:45 pm (Wednesday only class)
  • 1st & 2nd Grade: 5:00-5:45 pm
  • 3rd & 4th Grade: 6:00-7:00 pm
  • 5th-8th Grade (coed): 3:45-4:45 pm

Monday: Skill Sessions focused on the individual player development, through individual and small group activities and games.

Game Day, coaches create game environments used to continue individual player development in a recognized game environment (**There are no weekend games).

Saturday Session (April 18 to May 16)

Skill Sessions: Each week our soccer staff to implement a 15-minute skill session and referee a 30-minute scrimmage. Each skill session will be geared towards the appropriate age group.

Scrimmages: Our soccer staff will referee the scrimmage while volunteer coaches manage their teams including making sure all players get equal playing time.

Player Equipment: Each player receives a soccer t-shirt. Soccer cleats are optional. Shin Guards are strongly recommended.

Team Placement: Players will be placed with friend request when possible.

Volunteer Coaching: We rely on volunteers to help make this program successful. No experience necessary. We can help you along the way. Volunteer coaching duties include helping manage your team during skill sessions and during scrimmages. Volunteer coaches receive 50% off their child's soccer registration fee.

4-5 year olds: 3v3 or 4v4 no-goalie game
6-9 year olds: 4v4 or 5v5 plus-goalie game
Coaches Needed: Volunteer and get $50 off your child's fee

Location: Battle Point turf field

Fee: $100 per player (incl. t-shirt)

4-6 year old girls/boys: 9:00-10:00a
6-9 year old girls/boys:10:15-11:15a

Announcing Fall 2019 In-House Soccer Program 1st to 8th Grade Age Groups

Families, we're delight to announce a new format for our recreational programming, which will allow players to participate, learn and have all the fun of soccer without the travel, a true recreational program. Families have enjoyed and loved the ease of our in-house program, with its local training sessions and Saturday games at Bainbridge High School, we have decided to expand our fall in-house program through 8th grade, allowing families to enjoy this great game on the island.

Bainbridge Island FC Fall In-House Soccer League

Game Location: Bainbridge High School
Game Day: Saturday
Game Dates: Sept 7, 14, 21, 28, Oct 5, 12, 19, 26 & Nov 2
Age Grouping:

  • 1-2 Grade
  • 3-4 Grade
  • 5-8 Grade (Coed)

Player Development: Children within the 1-4 grades will participate in small sided clinics on Monday's with BIFC Training staff, they will also have individual team training sessions on a Friday. The 5-8th grade groups, will receive training from BIFC staff on a Wednesday.

Small Sided Game Clinics (starting the week of Sept 3): Small sided game clinics are lead by BIFC Director of Coaching.
  • 1-2 Graders: Monday (3:45-4:30pm) @ Battle Point Turf
  • 3-4 Graders: Monday (4:40-5:40pm) @ Battle Point Turf
  • 5-8 Graders: Wednesday (3:45-4:45pm) @ Woodward MS
Team Practises (starging the week of Sept 3): Team practices are lead by team coaches.
  • 1-2 Graders: Friday (4:30-5:15pm) @ Woodward MS
  • 3-4 Graders: Friday (5:20-6:20pm) @ Woodward MS

Saturday Game format & Start Times

  • 1-2 Grade (4v4, no GK) - 9:00am
  • 3-4 Grade (7v7, including GK) - 11.45am
  • 5-8 Grade (7v7, including GK) - 10:15am

The game format are structured this way to ensure maximum participation.

Player Fee: $185 ($195 after July 31)
Included in price: Two game shirts, group training, referees, field fees, etc.
Not Included: ball, shorts, socks, shinguards & cleats.
