Friends and Fellow soccer players,

Its finally time to head to the carribean!! its 8 10 Am and its just about time to leave for the airport. Yesterday was our official picture!, and the new uniforms are super classy... Usaully everyone just has their last name on the back but since SAEZ is a pretty common last name, and theres another girl on the team with that last name, mine since ¨V. SAEZ¨so its a little more personlized :)

Last night after practice, I went with a friend

Nomination · 19 days ago

I apologize for the absence in my blog, but I was saving today for a special blog.

Today was nomination day, as a few of you may know only 21 players can be on the roster for each world cup team. Until today we had 24 players.
After 2 years of training, and sacrifice, 3 players were not selected to go to the World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago, 2010.
My love goes out to Daniela Munoz, Camila Cortes, and Evelyn Vasquez!!

Newest Update: We take off for Panama August 25th

Encounters with Canada · about 1 month ago

BIFC friends,

It took me a few days for the headaches to die down, but after sitting on the bench for our first game against Canada, I wasn't going to let my head stop me from playing our next friendly against them this last sunday.
In our first game the team played amazing, they were calm and collected and you could feel their presence on the field.
That game was tied 1-1.

The tranquility on the field is what we have been working on lately, specifically the mental

Hi All,

First thing, the game against Canada was postponed a day, and what i didnt know is we are playing them twice! Once Thursday and once Sunday!

I was so pysched to play Thursday, until a couple hours ago at practice.
I was playing in a slightly muddy goal area in a mini scrimmage, as i ran backwards to catch a ball.. which i didnt actually see get shot because before i knew it I had hit my head on the goalpost. i passed out for about 3 seconds, but luckily I didnt hav

La Serena · about 1 month ago

Hey Everyone!
Sunday after my last blog I headed off with thet team to the North. After 7 hrs on the bus we finally arrived to the Serena Dream Hotel. To our surprise we stayed in cozy little cabanas! Instead of the usual 2 floor frenzy of soccer players that we are used too haha.
The next morning we had a game against the La Serena, and went back to the hotel with a 10-0 win-- I didnt do much but that isnt necessarily a bad thing ;)
The next morning is was straight to work, and we s

Hi Veronica. It looks like you are working hard and enjoying this exciting opportunity. What differences have you noticed between the Chilean schools and BI schools? Is the level of soccer similar there to BI? What has been the hardest thing for you to get used to?

Answer · about 1 month ago

Betsy,
I´m actually not going to school in Chile, I closed my second semester so I have to take online classes to finish up my junior year. I am just finishing up my 3rd class online through Brigham Young University which i have been struggling with on such a tight schedule.
Althrough from what i do know about the schools here there are 3 major diffeerences.
1) Everbody wears uniforms
2) Private schools are considered the only way to go, people never go to public schools beca

Recap · about 1 month ago

BI Soccer Friends,

I know I know, I started blogging a little late in the game, but if there's any time to start now is better than later,
I've come to somewhat of a turning point in my time over here. When I arrived I was the "new kid" on the team, or more lovingly known as the "the gringa" by my teammates.
Over the past 2 1/2 months of training and bonding with the team, a couple injuries and trips to USA (represent!!) and Mexico. i have become so much
